I remember GM had something like a super carb. It would get something like 80mpg. Maybe that's what he did.

They couldn't. I think some oil company bought the rights to it. Which was one rumor. Or the whole switch to EFI in the '80's killed it. Another rumor. If this guy with the 110 MPG Mustang is actually telling the truth. Maybe he made the Super Carb GM did?

How much would an oil company have to pay GM to buy the rights to something that would guarantee GM a near 100% market share? Why would they bother switching to EFI when they had a carburetor capable of 80mpg?
Even if they had sold the rights to it to an oil company, it wouldn't stop them from designing a similar carburetor with enough differences to not violate the patents but close enough to get huge MPG. IMO, the whole "super carb" thing sounds like a big conspiracy theory.

My thing is, where the hell is China and Japan on this front. They have WAY worse pollution problems, and are some smart mofuggers...
