hehe yeah but honestly it's not like that in real life...it does quiet them down quite a bit to where hearing protection isn't required. but its no 007 weapon that's for sure.

and if the round is super sonic they'll hear it anyway...such as a group of people.

I suck at description late at night, I suppose. I meant the next one line hears the first one's target piff and slide overhead. But, powers given, it's already too late.

Chad, you'll have to tell some tales, if your soul permits. A good bro of mine told me about some stuff that went down in Bosnia. Creeped me out, but wow, did I ever respect the US Armed Forces after the tales he told me.

and to the tales...wish I had some...I havn't been deployed...but not for lack of trying. honestly this last deployment I got edged out by a Sgt. there are only 3 non NCO's on this deployment which is completely back ass wards. next one has a chance to go to afghan which would be the shit as they are actually DOING stuff in Afghanistan compared to being under a microscope in Iraq.

No, sir. Sober as you please. I have been shot at (multiple rounds fired) while not in any sort of sanctioned armed combat, so I know the overhead zing and the *piff* of the round when it hits flesh. Being a victim, you realize how easy it might be on the other end of the scoped instrument.

ah I understand now sir. glad to see you made it out...I'd like to hear that story sometime if you wouldn't mind telling it...

not many people know what the zip of a bullet sounds like...its a eerie sound for sure.

at the range when we pull pits, the shots are literally ringing maybe 3-5 feet above our heads we are protected by a concrete roof, and over hang and the berm.

I could never be a sniper...to boring.

bring on the 155's and 500lb gbu's pwease.
