I voted for the divider. Two different rooms. If it was family and living or dining, it would be different.

I will get a divider made and cover it with drywall tonight. I will take pics with and without.. hopefully tonight. I want to get the living room done so I can move the couch and chair back out there. Then it will be easier to see what I am talking about.

look at the wall in the background. No divider doesn't have a 2x4 lineing up with the beam (so it looks like 1 giant room), the 2nd picture has the 2x4 as a divider so that its "2 rooms" to the eye.

Kitchen, that wall will have a table over there. It is 10' wide.

Let me get the rest of the drywall put in, trying to get that done tonight, then I can move my couch back to the living room and move everything back.

I will cover a stud with drywall so it will take the shape of the wall. I will take a pic and post it. Trying for tonight on all of that.

I like the idea of the room being split, but then again, it might seem really small with a divider, so

I know, I need to see it in true mocked up form. I think it may make it seem too small, and putting it in will make me have to change the light switch.
