Phoenix's Beer Review

Red Speckled Hen
3/29/08

This is an English ale, which I'm not a big fan of ales in general, but I loved the bottle and the color so I got it. A sweet, flavorful ale with little to no after taste. As far as ales go, I like it, but I would still rather have a lager or a bock if given the choice.

Modelo especial
3/29/08

First off I have to admit that yes, I am that douche that drinks Corona like it's going out of style. I like Mexican beer, I admit it. If you don't like it you can bite my fermented ass That being said, if you like Corona, give Modelo especial a try, you'll love it. Put those limes away Corona fans, because this is one Mexican beer that does not need to be fruited. No salt, no lime, just peel that blasted gold colored foil off and enjoy a smooth and tasty beer. I really love the bottling of this beer, but the foil is kind of annoying. It's very thin so it flakes off and makes a bit of a mess.

No response to the ones I did, so I didn't do any more. I might get back into it over the summer if anyone is interested. I like trying new beers, so it's fun for me.

Please feel free to add to this one. I'm home for a week so beer consumption is at a standstill

moose drool.
Its a brown ale that is very good. Very easy to drink. If you wanna get shit bombed and like dark beer but hate how they make you full, this beer is very easy to drink with a "heavier" flavor.....

Wild Blue Blueberry Lager

Based out of New York, NY; 8% alcohol by volume; ~$30 for a #24 case of 12 ounce bottles in Allentown, PA.

Company shot:

My own shots:

I have enjoyed a number of blueberry flavored ales and thought I'd give this a shot. The title really says it, it's very blueberry. I have the feeling this is either something you'll love or hate.
It tastes like very sweet (to some, overly sweet) blueberry soda and the aftertaste was actually better than when it first hits your lips (haha, insert "Old School" joke here) but that is not to say the foretaste was bad.
Beer sat very heavy in my stomach, I drank one 6-pack (case of four 6-packs) and while I wasn't that drunk, I had an awful headache the next day.
Probably best paired with a meal (I don't know what style beers to pair with foods, forgive me!).

Bottom line: very sweet and good flavor, heavy beer that is not best for getting drunk but worth sipping on during a breezy summer evening.

flying dog gonzo imperial porter

9.2%
thick, rich, with a warm alcohol aftertaste...
I personally love it, but if you are not into heavy rich beers (some budlight fag) then you will not enjoy this beer. It has a roasted chocolate malt taste, not much hops taste....then the alcohol aftertaste, which is not overwhelming. It is worth a try
