My newest project (electric mower)
With mowing season upon us, I decided to build an electric mower out of a broken down mower I found at one of the townhomes I painted. The deck will need a weld here and there, but is in almost brand new condition. I will be spending around $150.00 on the parts I need and I will not have to buy gas, worry about oil in the motor.. none of that, and can eventually buy a solar panel to charge the batteries. I will post up pictures of the mower when I get it done.. I will be painting it and fixin it all up (I don't know if you guys know but I cannot leave anything alone like that, must customize!!).
Here is a website where a guy did the same thing WEBSITEWEBSITE. This lil project will be fun, and again I won't have to worry bout all the crap you would normally worry about with a mower Oh and my mower is a 22" Yard Machine mulching mower. The only thing I see is that I need to figure out how I can get more life from it. It takes me 1hr to mow my yard.. this guy said his would last 35min or about there. I will post up pics of it's progress

THE CHEAPEST POS mower you can buy is right around that, and cheap meaning a season MAYBE 2 of use before it craps out.. like it really isn't worth the metal and plastic it is made from. So with that, fakk yeah it is totally worth it!
I don't know how much I can get the solar panel for yet.. haven't even looked into it, but will soon. Hell you take $3.50/gal and you use about 3/4 /gal to mow your yard.. that is bout $2.80ish(rough math ) and to charge your batts from electric would be MAYBE $.50 !!!!AND after you get your solar set up NADA BABY!!!!!!!!!!

geez the mower I have I inherited it from my dad after he had it about 15 years. he gave it to me when we moved into the house 5 years ago. hell I even ran that bastard 2 years before I remembered it even needed oil. yeah it was bone dry lol. I still have it and use it. I cant imagine buying a new mower every couple years.
