possible yes. safe no.
healthy weight loss is average of 2lbs per week. guys lose a lil easier than women but 30lbs in a month its quite a bit. unless of course you're on the biggest loser and doing nothing but working out and eating exactly what your trainers are telling you to eat.

Yeah man, that is what I have done, this winter was worse on me for some reason than most, and all my work thus far has been inside, and not out hauling shit around and ladders and all, so I haven't cut my winter weight yet.. that and my schedule is fucked and has been all winter
.. so yeah that is what I am going for. Been walking for about a month + not every night... on and off though and man the whole cardio is kickin my ass!

it's also possible to lose inches/gain muscle and not lose any weight on the scale. so it's best just to eat clean, exercise, and maybe weigh yourself once a week at most.

nate, don't worry about lb's. worry about shape. you have a house. put a chin up bar in the basement and every night/morning go do some pull ups and crunches and just tone up. I've seen people cut weight in wrestling. If you wana just loose the pounds you could do shower runs and sweat the weight out. But you'll feel like crap and its bad for you. So take it slow and do it right.

Yes very possible, I think I've actually done that at one point too. Safe? definitely not. I used to be a wrestler so my weight varies like alot of ex-wrestlers. So, I can go play 3 hours of full court basketball & loose 5-8lbs but most of that is water weight that I carry

Well, for the people that are saying its not safe, thats not exactly true. There are too many variables that we dont know, so it is hard to say whether it can be done or not, and whether it is safe.
Losing 4lbs a week is a good weight loss when you are exercising regularly, eating very clean (by this i mean maintaining proper calorie intake, eating about every 2-3 hours, and keeping your protein intake high so that you are not losing muscle). it is very doable, and not dangerous at all if you are doing it the right way. i.e. maintaining correct accounting of your caloric intake and macronutrient intake for EVERYTHING you eat. If you are trying to lose 20 pounds of body fat, then it is a lot of hard work and effort. But, it is best done with a trainer watching over you so that they can make sure that it is body fat that is being lost and not lean muscle.
