Your dream home???

Mine:

Coakley Cay, Bahamas, Caribbean
just needs me 25 millionz to buys her...

its exact locationin the bahamas...

Quote:
Coakley Cay is is one of the larger private islands in the Exuma Cays and is located 15 miles west of George Town, Exuma.
The island comprises 340 acres and boasts approximately 500 metres of white sandy beach on the eastern side of the island.

If you can't sail the Exumas, make sure you look down when you're flying overhead. The 365 cays of the Exumas are strewn over a 100 mile expanse of the most beautiful water in the Bahamas. Yachtsmen can still explore unnamed beaches and deserted cays.

unnamed beaches and deserted islands....

even has abilities for fresh water, and has points upwards of 18-22 feet above sea level i wouldnt ride out a cat 4 or 5 here but i would sooo live here permenantly... just need aboot 26million to make it happends

Thatch Cay, .5 miles off the coast of St. Thomas

Everytime we pull into port on St. Thomas we pass this island, it's badass

LOL i get updates daily from the website, ive looked into it. and yeah you can get one in bahamas with similar hights for around 1 to 2 million, and even a few (non buildable islands) for <1 million with a good ammount of acreage, but this island is MY DREAM ISLAND... imean 340 acres!!!!... think of all of Busch gardens... all of it is less than this island, by like 4 or 5 acres... its HUGE!!!!!!!!

but ive done a good bit of research and for about 3 million i can have a island i can put a relative permanent dwelling on thats also big enough to live one without feeling cramped with fresh water and most food needs to grow/ smoke ( muh island brchs!!!! ) in the bahama. all with a relatively quick boat/floatplane ride to any major city/port...

Sandy Cay, Bahamas, Caribbean

Pricetag: just under 3 million.. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION with this island....

Quote:
Just 56 miles from the chic resort city of Palm Beach, Florida, the Bahamian island of Sandy Cay offers a rare opportunity to those seeking to create their dream island retreat. No mangrove or swampland will hinder development of this perfect coral-rock gem, bounded on all sides by the sea at the high water mark. Unspoiled white sand beaches, breathtaking sea views and a perfect climate create a gorgeous tropical experience, conveniently close to the amenities of the island of Grand Bahama.

Just 7 miles from the western point of Grand Bahama Island, you will be close to a marina, casino, shopping and restaurants. Sandy Cay is also 8 miles from the stunning new $4.9B Ginn Sur Mer, a Versailles-inspired resort that will feature a luxurious casino, golf course, airstrip and many other amenities. This much-anticipated development will without a doubt result in heightened desirability for the Western point of Grand Bahama, making the fee-simple island an excellent investment.

I'd settle for Robert Downey Jr's house from Iron Man. As long as the cars were included.

It seems like the costs to develop on an island and make it inhabitable would be... expensive. Even after you purchase the island, how much is it going to cost to get equipment and manpower there to clear your homesite then get building material and more manpower there to actually build a house? Then theres little things like fresh water and power... not to mention food and other supplies and then trash disposal.

I really want something on the lake, with a dock and boat lift. Figure about a 3 or 4 car garage and enough room that it isnt too small, but isnt too much to maintain.

its all in how you live/ the way you build. trust me it can be done relatively cost effectively, but either way the price of owning your own island is the biggest pitfall for poor people with just ideals like me besides if you can afford the 3 million plus for an island i dont think your too worried about costs of making it inhabitable...

what about first aid and health? if you break something or get bite by something you may be fucked if no one can get to you on time...

it would cost almost as much for the island as it would to build on the island and make it habitable. I'd rather just buy the house or condo on an island that is already inhabited (jamaica, st thomas, crand cayman, etc)

...thats why you stay away from the tourist areas... like orlando for instance. same with anywhere you live, you have tourists and visitors... just move out of the area where you know they will be prone to be.

usually tourists flock to the prettiest sights leaving shitholes like thonotosassa vacant

LOL imeani LOVE Clearwater beach and id want to live there but eff all the tourists. i guess i just hate people in general.. and most large gatherings (20K plus style) of them as well. ive done a good bit of research and i could get Sady Cay up and running to my standards for about 300,000-350,000 bucks after initial purchase of the island... granted thats not to everyones standards just mine. but were talkind Dreams anyways :drift off to lala land:
