awesome home idea
Two houses make a home - The Denver Post
granted with the 400k spent plus the value of their house they could have bought a 600+k house instead.

I would LOVE to buy the other side of this townhome and make it into just one home. Would be so bad ass if all were redone. two car garage and FECK... so much badassness that could be. a HUGE downstairs and upstairs and double rooms.. would be cool

see this is why I am moving in with my parents.
I am going to take care of them as they get older. Our house is 3000+sqft 1.3 acres of land and in one of the best school districts of PA. We might convert the basement into an apartment for us. The other idea is we might sell the shore house and build a 3 car garage with living area above. We live there for a few years and as our kids get older we switch with the parents. Dude I will so live in my parents basement to not have a mortgage hahaha |

when you're wife becomes completely americanized, she will want her own place... and your life will become similar to Al Bundy's, as ours has.
On a side note, I love people that get creative with houses... Living in two houses connected, old churches, old missle silo's. I can get into that stuff.

from what i remmeber/was told about it its in the NE somewhere in NY i beleive.
it was an old Atlas F silo (only remember this 100% cause i was doing research on the nuke missles of america at the time i got told about the buy) and is almost directly in the center of20something acres... like 20-23 acres or so. he paid less than 300K for the silo and land. and it has a 2 level 5000sqft total command center (also underground) and it connects to the main silo with a large hall/walk way. according to general specs the main silo is like 200ft down with a 50ft diameter. i do not remember how many levels he was planning for but he wants to/ is putting plans together to build a small 2 bed 2 bath style cabbin over the commandcenter portion, with solar panels on some clearing near it to power the entire place. those are the only "current" plans i know of but gramps IS like 63 so at most he has 2 years left b4 he prolly retires, and the "current" was christmas last year so who knows how far the cabbin and power panel systems have come... knowing him thought he'll put together the solar system himself ![]() I wit muh gramps....

Besides we have two houses, one beach house in NJ where my parents live from may to sept. So we can all relax for a few months at separate houses. Also the PA house is 700-800k, and I want my kids in this school district, it's better than the surrounding ones by up to 20 points of different scales. Hell for a public school to have 86%+ of it's graduating class go on to Uni is damn impressive. |
