yea I didnt think so, but what do you think about the assault riffle/sniper riffle combo? I think it could be useful to have 1 in each squad

I saw that, honestly I don't remember the exact specs on it, but its just more shit to carry. my combat load is well over 100 pounds.

I've never seen combat, but from what my buddies tell me it happens so fast that that wouldn't even be thought of.

I'm a big fan of the M249 when its up and running and keeping it clean.

each fire team consists of a R T F A or ready, team fire, assist. ready = point man, team = fire team leader, fire = SAW gunner, and assist = a-gunner and carries extra ammo and an extra barrel for the saw gunner.

adopting that would get rid of the SAW, each I don't see a need to do.

+ its not an open bolt design.

I was reading that they're thinking of replacing the saw anyways... due to the small round that it fires

eh yes those rumors have been going on for years now. fires the same round as the M16. 5.56. and in its role its perfect. the para SAW which is what we use has a collapseable short stock, shorter barrel, we mount AN/PEQ-2's and aimpoint's onto our SAW's.

anything in a larger caliber will not be as small, compact, or light and becomes more of a medium machine gun role. which is what the 240 is.

thats my opinion.
