Took the scouts camping last weekend. We were practicing camp cooking for a demo we're doing a week from tomorrow. They were doing dutch oven cooking -- couple of pot roasts and and apple cake and a blueberry cake. I decided to surpise the troop and brought my little smoker and 6lbs of brisket. I told the kids when their parents dropped them off "I'm going to teach you how to smoke!!!" Parents = Then I splained the brisket. Got there, first question "What kind of fish is a brisket?" Set up the smoker and showed the kids how it worked. Worked it for 6 hours and then served up the brisket with the pot roast. Nothing left. I told the kids to taste the fat off the brisket. One didn't. I told him to try it. He was OMFGBBQ nomnomnomnomnom. I think it was a hit. ![]() Quote:

could work lol. We're holding a garage sale fundraiser thing at the office next month and we're BBQing. nothing special, burgers, dogs, brats and ribs. you should stop byQuote:
CFTI have tons of recipies for all sorts of food, food is so dreamy my main BBQ and grilling recipies would be several for, Bratwursts, burgers, hotdogs, ribs (pork and beef), steaks (mainly filets and sirloins) and pork (whole pig and sections) I haven't made a brisket in about a year or so, and I haven't done one entirely by myself yet either. My brother has a pretty wicked dry rub he makes, but I think I can make a better one. ![]() BBQ sauce is a toss up, my brother in law makes his own and thats pretty darn good, but I like Sweet Baby Rays BBQ and Stubbs BBQ sauce. Making my own BBQ sauce will definitely be one of the next things I do... I'll probably go with a vinegar based one first
