I do it everywhere I post...its a habit and I feel weird when my name isn't in the thread.

one reason I started doing it was when meeting people for the first time at a car meet it was weird going "so whats your screen name" to everyone and someone replies "deatheater21312"

people instantly go so "who's chad?"

instead of saying who is "younggun, or Nimitz87"

Very cool picture. As far as a tripod goes, I just got a $15 one from my local electronic store years ago. It still works great.

unless you move up to something heavier than a p&s or small dslr, there's not much need for anything more expensive.

Most I'd ever have would be my Xti w/ a 70-200 on the end...

Now, that's getting a little more serious (not to mention heavier and more expensive, especially depending on which 70-200 ). If you really want a tripod that you could confidently leave an XTi and a 70-200 f2.8 on, you need to move up to the $100-$150 range:
Bogen / Manfrotto | 728B Digi Tripod with 3-Way Head | 728B

I have a 20D and my heaviest lens is the 24-70L, so close to 4lbs total. I bought a middle range Sunpak (Sunpak | FieldMaster Tripod | 620050 | B&H Photo Video) and it's junk, there's no way I'd ever walk away from my camera when it's on there.
