I picked up the 106pc a couple weeks ago for $50, seems like a good quality kit.

These sales happen every few months, so if you miss it now don't feel too disappointed.

It's overkill for that, the 106pc I got has more than I would ever need. I'd say pass, if that's what you're looking for.

yeah that is another thing. I want to be able to store it in the truck when not "tooling around" at the pick and pull. I will be looking for the 100ish piece set. Hopefully the case is compact enough to keep in the truck behind the seat

it is...I have the 114 or whatever piece set and honestly...it ain't that great for working on the car...I really need to invest in a decent chest and some tools but that is $$$$$$

I've done pretty much my entire heads/cam rear end, suspension, shifter, etc. with that kit...besides the specialty tools needed. and a few odds and ends.

its good for what you want to use it for though and will surely work flawlessly for that. mine is going to be regulated to the car/dd once I get a "real" set.

Chad

get the mac knuckle savers, they have more bite and a larger surface area on the handle so they dont bite into your hands as bad... I have both snapon and mac wrenches and I love the mac once

That is what I have. I use it all the time and they hold up. And if they don't, then I just take it back and get a new one free of charge. The only thing that I don't like is the action on the ratchet, but I'm use to a Williams, which is what I use most of the time... when I can find it.

When I get back enrolled in the automotive program at the jr. college I can get half price mac and snap-on kits.. I have to go through some deal, show school id and all but can get the discount. I will post up a thread when I do, then if anyone wants anything I can get a price and we can get all the stuff ordered together.. save a ton of money that way. I am going to talk to my old instructor and see if there is a go around with that discount and see if I can get it without being enrolled now.
