Pepsi Throwback & Mountain Dew Throwback

Quote:
WASHINGTON, April 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Sugar Association and its member companies congratulate PepsiCo and local bottlers across the country on their introduction of Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback to U.S. consumers. These retro drinks using real, all-natural sugar are a win-win for all.

The introduction of these two new products, using all-natural sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup is a boon to local economies, supporting local sugar growers and processors. The sugar industry employs over 146,000 workers, contributes $10 billion to local economies and provides community support on the local level across the United States.

And now, consumers will have a choice in beverages - drinks made with real, all-natural sugar, vs. high fructose corn syrup.

"While these products are only on the market shelves for an 8-week period, we are confident that the consumers will like the clean, crisp taste of Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback and encourage PepsiCo to continue with these two drinks," stated Andy Briscoe, President and CEO of the Sugar Association. "If consumers voice their approval for these two drinks by buying a few cases of each, then we are hopeful that PepsiCo will continue with these two and add other sugar-based drinks in their product line-up."

Look for Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback on your local retailer shelves.

2. What sizes will be available?

Per Pepsi, "20-oz. single-serve bottles and 12-pack cans." These are plastic bottles, not glass, for those who were wondering. It does not appear that 2-liter or other sizes will be available.

3. What are the official release dates for these products?

Per Pepsi, "Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback will be available nationwide for about 8 weeks beginning April 20″. We previously reported a release window of April 20-June 13. Technically, 8 weeks would be June 15, but again, it says "about 8 weeks", plus you have product that will be on the shelves after the release dates. (Then again, if these prove popular, they might not be around that long!)

if they know what the deal is. HFCS is bad, I guess it confuses your body, it doesn't know how to break it down right.

Sugar isn't exactly good for you, either. I like to think moderation is much more important than the actual ingredients.

I do love me some Pepsi though, so I'll make sure to try the real sugar version and see if I like the taste better.

they sell it in the normal 20oz bottles. i picked one up while i was out at lunch and i'm not impressed with it at all, i think it tastes worse than normal... it doesn't taste like they used real sugar in it, it tastes almost like they used sweet n low instead.

20oz bottles and cans, so far all I've found is the bottles, and it tases friggin awsome, just like it used to before the fake shit.

Me and my friends have been been too busy sunbathing off the southern coast of St. Bart's with spider monkeys for the past two weeks, tripping on acid. Changed our whole perspective on shit...so you can Dere-lick my balls cap-i-tan

I've had lots of trouble trying to find this stuff. Stopped at a local gas station yesterday before taking a nice Sunday drive in the roadster for a paper and a drink and found it in 20oz. bottles. I want to pick up a few cases of it, but have yet to find them. It's definitely a bit different than the HFCS Pepsi, but I think I like it better.

I tried Mountain Dew today, I would have to say I was expecting it to be more like Jones Soda, really sweet and almost like liquid candy. The taste is very different, but it tastes like REAL soda and what it should taste like. The throwback is so much better compared to the regular Mtn Dew.

when I was in Dallas a couple months ago I found RedBull Cola.. I saw it for the first time last night at the grocery store. I had never seen it till I was in Dallas, and now here. Funny how that works. I still remember clear pepsi.
