I'm surprised that the used tr3650 I put in 2 years ago is taking the abuse. Maybe it's the Mobil synthetic atf I put in lol.

Got it where I could drive it to the shop this morning. Verdict is the synchros and bearings are going out. Price to pull and rebuild, with some better parts, estimated $1400. So i have him hunting for a t56 without an obscene price tag now.

The shop finally found what we need to get it done. Tranny + crossmember + driveshaft + yoke + shifter + labor, quoted at about $3100. It will also be warrantied which will be nice. I was hoping the quote would come in closer to $2700 or so but i was expecting $3000 after doing some research. They ordered the stuff today and it should be in early next week.

Went by and put my deposit down beggining of last week. Last of the parts came in on monday this week and I dropped the car off yesterday morning. They called back this evening and said they were doing the last bit of test driving and it would be ready to pick up 8am saturday morning!

not 100% sure but the manager was pretty sure they would need to and its included in the deal. I have a friend across the street who is a motorcycle cop, may have him zap me with the radar and see if it agrees with the speedo for the heck of it.

Brought it home this mornng and man what a different experience. It feels a tad slower in the low end of the rpm so now I guess I need those 4.10s.... oh darn. And how the hell do you cobra drivers ever get your car into reverse, takes me 2 hands and about 3 tries lol.

Well bought a Bassani o/r X yesterday and put it on this morning. Probably wont sound all that great until I get the Bassani CB to match though, will find out shortly.
Also ordered the PHP intake spacer and that should be coming in a week or so.

Well I got my PHP Spacer installed today. It took about an hour and 1/2 for me to do because I was extra careful and took a ton pics so I had a record of where it all went.
The instructions that come with it are severly lacking in details so I used this as a guide. http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...installing+php It was really easy to do for 95% of the work. The EGR was a total bitch to get back on and tight. Tools I needed were a 1/2" ratchet and 10mm sockets as well as a 1/4" socket with 8mm deep socket and a 7mm or 6mm normal socket, a 1/4" torque wrench that will do 90-100" lbs and a screwdriver. Follow the steps in the guide except I would also add that you should remove the throttle return spring and throttle cables so you can lay them out of the way while you try and get the spacer, both gaskets, and upper all lined back up and slid in under the EGR. I also disconnected the battery before doing anything else. So I put everything back on and wrestled with the EGR to get it to bolt up. Fire it up and it takes a second to catch and come on. Then the idle jumped to about 1500 before dropping back to about 500 and started surging or hunting. Sounded like I had cams from the lope which shook the whole car. Thats a no bueno right there. Turned it off and checked all the vacuum lines but it turns out the rear EGR bolt wasnt tight enough. Once I got it snugged down, not easy, turned it back on and it started normally. Idle was just a tad high, 1000 instead of the normal 900 or so, so I took it for a drive. Well worth the $115 ($100+$15 shipping), you can definately feel the torque lower when you hammer the throttle. Also raises the shaker about 1/4" which gets it up so the bottom is even with the hood instead of sitting down below it. The only thing I would do different is get a friend to help pull the EGR into the new position so it would be easier for me to bolt back up. Also you may have trouble locating a torque wrench that does inch pounds or goes low enough. I checked all the shops by the house and the only place that had one was shop quality and $200. Vatozone had one for $24 but it went up from 120" lbs. Then a buddy at one of the shops suggested going to harbor frieght. We have one not too far away, or online @ http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=2696 but I only paid $19 for it.

SES came on today about 40 miles after intsall. Car runs normally and I am 99% sure I know what the problem is. Most likely that damn EGR will have to be loosened and reseated, oh joy. Will go have the code pulled tommarrow morning probably.
