Gas/Fuel How much longer B4 it's out??

i was talking to a guy who used to be a sales guy for PJ's autoworld (a classic car dealership with 2 locations and some AWESOME DD and high class style musclecars) while i was at work today, and he seems to feel that gas as the top fuel for cars will be done within 20 years... and aparently the owner of PJ's is expecting to close down within 10 years because gas prices will be too high for him to continue in the market of collectors cars.

Ive been doing some thinking about ti with the 2 stangs and what/if we do to them in the way of modds just cause i dont want to spend even 5K (even on the GT) just to have gas be way to expensive for me/us to enjoy the pleasure cars just a few years later...

so how much longer B4 some other source(s) of energy becomes the primary fuel for our cars other than Gasoline...

i personally think in 15 gas will be on its way out and at the 20 mark gas will be so expensive only those with a lot of money will still be using it, and people in areas like racing... but most/all DD's being produced wont run on it...

right now we have enough known oil reserves to power this country for the next 50-75 years easy. if we build a few coal liquefaction plants and convert coal into gasoline, we will have enough to power the world for the next 300 years.

did you see my post for Algae for fuel in area 51? I will cliffnote.. algae is the fastest growing plant, it produces a TON of a high grade vegetable oil. So you have huge farms that farm it right? Algae is a CO2 KILLA! it actually uses the co2 to eat/live (bonus) and it can be tailor grown to get different product.. deisel, jet fuel, car fuel... ect. ect...

they say an area 1/10 new mexico could produce enough oil to gas us up every year.

Long enough to keep raping us over and over again, until they come up with some better to rape us with.

Ford had developed a 250hp hydrogen engine and fit it in the 99+ stang, so maybe they might make a kit in a few years

Don't bring politics into this forum.

We have atleast 150 years of fossil fuels surveyed so far, they're not going to go away completely.

yeah please no politics just ideas, and why joo think it...

imean im not saying that all the fuel from fossils will be depleated... just that it will be far to expensive to keep as the main source of powar for cars after 20 years or so....

oil is organic. All we need to do is to be able to take organic material and turn it into a fuel source. Organics are some of the most explosive types of explosive things .. serious though. When grain elevators explode.. it is cause of grain dust igniting It is a Class #2 for Hazardous Locations in the NEC (nation electric code).

Funny or not so funny.. M.E.K. Methyl Ethyl Ketone is a VERY nasty thinner/catalyst. It is also known as Butanone.

Quote:
Butanone is a manufactured organic chemical. It is a colorless liquid with a sharp, sweet butterscotch odor reminiscent of acetone.

It is a ketone, also known as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). Butanone occurs as a natural product. It is made by some trees and found in some fruits and vegetables in small amounts. It is also released to the air from car and truck exhausts.

Butanone is produced in large quantities. Nearly half of it is used in paints and other coatings because it will quickly evaporate. It dissolves many substances and is used as a solvent in processes involving gums, resins, cellulose acetate and nitrocellulose coatings and in vinyl films. It is also used in the synthetic rubber industry, and as a catalyst for polyester resin hardening. It is also used in manufacturing plastics, textiles, in the production of paraffin wax, and in household products such as lacquer, varnishes, paint remover, a denaturing agent for denatured alcohol, glues and as a cleaning agent. MEK is also used in dry erase markers as the solvent of the erasable dye. It is used for synthesis of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, a catalyst for some polymerization reactions. It is highly flammable. It is not considered a large health threat.
So how can we turn organics into a fuel source? Decomposition or Distilling you know Doc wasn't off when he was feeding the flux capacitor banana peels. Hell if we could get a fusion type reactor like the flux capacitor.. can you imagine? That is one step away from A.I. (artificial intelligence) or at least robocop.. remember he pooped apple sauce.

Anyway.. I will stop my mad scientist ramblings
