Well I emailed my state Rep tonight.. that is a first
It was a "can" letter.. but still made me feel good I actually did something like this. Here is the letter:
Quote:
I actually hope they do do this, that is why I went through the process to send it. I am glad it was easy to do, I didn't really have the brain power to write this up myself tonight..

I saw a HUGE windmill being shipped on the highway today, it was just the main generating component, not the fins.. or the cone, just the box with the gears and generator.. I usually see around 5 at once going down the highway.. with thier "wide load" pickup trucks ahead and behind them. So fucking cool to see them though. I tried to take a pic w/ my cell today but almost ran off the highway
E for effort I guess.

Problem is that we can't even get wind power up in large quantities because the environmentalists complain about the power lines running through federal land.
I don't really care how we get energy, I'm all for the "all of the above" plan. Nuke is high on that list, though.

yeah the environmentalists are just plain stupid. Yes the land.. we get it, but what about everything else? And it is only certain areas that will really benefit from this.. not like they will be EVERYWHERE.
In Central Kansas there is the Flint Hills area. The way wind is scored is a 0-4 category. The Flint Hills is a 4. The most wind and all the time. There are signs along I-70 that tell you to watch out for dangerous wind along the area that I-70 cuts through the Flint Hills. Environmentalists have killed the idea of Wind Generation there.. and it is all bluff hills, not suitable for crop growth, and really any kind of land development. It is the way it was 300yrs ago. Barren, hilly, grassland (use that sparingly).. it is basically a step or 2 up from desert.
