Just got my own domain, now what?

Anyone know some cheap web hosting or website building programs? This is purely recreational, so I don't want to drop a ton of cash.

Thats actually where I got the domain at, and the email. I saw they had hosting and builders, I just didn't want to commit until I had some input first.

That might be the best bet, everything else might be to pricey.

IX Webhosting does both and is fairly simple, we used them for a good while and enjoyed it, but it can be pricey if you get into both things.

Also Constant Contact is a good inexpensive way to keep friends or clients or whomever informed about your website/business via e-newsletter.

Cool thanks, I will have to check that stuff out. Also, what happens if I exceed the bandwidth that I am paying for? Do I get like a $10,000 bill?

lol I think you just get charged an overage fee, i'm not 100% sure so i'd ask someone else.

Depends on the plan and hosting company. Some will charge overages and some will just take the site offline until you do something.

It's pretty hard to legitimately go over what most companies give you these days, anyway. If you're using it to host big files or anything though you have to tread a little more carefully.

I've used GoDaddy, DreamHost and 1and1 and not had any significant issues with any of them. DreamHost seems to have more flexibility but 1and1 has been easier to use.

I use Fatcow. Got it for a year for $54.00. Look for online coupons.
